Dayton C. Miller Flute Collection

Library of Congress Collection that includes 1,700 flutes and other wind instruments.  Western and non-western flutes from around the world are included in the collection.  Images of 1,500 of these instruments along with photographs and other illustrations are located at this site.

Edinburgh University Collection of Historic Musical Instruments

Web site for the EUCHMI. Ethnomusicology Musical Instrument Collection

The University of Washington's Ethnomusicology Archive contains over 250 musical instruments from around the world.  This site contains photos, audio files and videos of the instruments.

Metropolitan Museum of Art Musical Instruments Collection

Includes 5,000 musical instruments from six continents dating from 300 B.C. to the present.  Strengths include European and American keyboards, wind instruments from the late seventeenth through the nineteenth century, and instruments of all sorts from non-Western societies.
